Pithoragarh (Uttarakhand): Nine BJP
supporters were killed and two injured when their jeep fell
into a gorge after being hit by a landslide in Rangaon
village, police said on Tuesday.
The accident took place yesterday when 11 people were
going for an election-related programme in Didihat in the
district, Deputy Superintendent of Police Amit Srivastava
said.
He said a big stone rolling from the hillocks during a
landslide hit the jeep passing through the village following
which it fell into the gorge. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
