Union minister of state for labour Harish Rawat on Monday said that Uttarakhand will soon be linked with railways.

Pithoragarh: Union minister of state for
labour Harish Rawat on Monday said that Uttarakhand will soon be
linked with railways.

"After the Centre`s recent policy, railway lines will be
based on backwardness of the area rather then its economic
viability. Uttarakhand can hope to be connected by
railway line."

Rawat said that he is very keen to take part in the
future making process of Uttarakhand as his roots lies hare
and said, "If party permits, I would like to active to lead
the party in 2012 election in Uttarakhand."

The Union Minister, who was here on a brief visit, said
denied allegations by Uttarakhand CM Ramesh Pokhariyal Nishank
that the Centre has scrapped the annual plan size of the
state.

"The Uttarakhand government presented before planning
commission its annual plan worth Rupees 5000 crore, which was
increased by 557 crore. Uttarakhand is the only state for
which the plan size has been increased, despite the state
failing to mobilise its own resources for this plan," Rawat
said.
