DNA: Kejriwal reveals blueprint of odd-even traffic plan- Part II

Beginning January 1, 2016, odd numbered cars will be allowed on odd numbered days and even numbered cars on even days. There would be a fine of Rs. 2,000 for violating the odd-even rule, Mr. Kejriwal said. The plan would remain in force from January 1 to 15, 2016 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., except for Sundays. The government has made many exemptions too. All two-wheelers, CNG-run vehicles, electric and hybrid vehicles, women drivers and with child up to 12-years-old, emergency vehicles such as ambulances, fire, hospital, prison vehicles etc., those on the way to hospital for medical treatment and the physically challenged need not comply with the rules of the scheme.
