Jalpaiguri(WB): Thirteen prisoners of the
Jalpaiguri Central Jail here have passed this year's Madhyamik
(Class X) examination, whose results were announced on Friday.
Jail Superintendent Rabindranath Chakraborty said 13
prisoners lodged in the jail appeared in the madhyamik
examination and all of them have passed.
Out of the 13 prisoners, nine secured A grade which
means more than 60 per cent marks, with Nepal Chandra Mondal
securing the highest mark of 535 among the jail inmates,
Chakraborty said.
The prisoners who passed the Madhyamik examination are
Nepal Chandra Mondal, Dulal Basu, Dulal Biswas, Sahinur Seikh,
Shyamal Ray, Serajul Seikh, Gour Mahanta, Niren Adhikary,
Jagadish Ray, Sultan Mia, Ketab Ali, Malay Kumar Das and Sagar
Baksi.
Chakraborty said all the prisoners were provided books
and study material by the jail.
Around 1052 prisoners are lodged in the Jalpaiguri
Central Jail.
