BJP accuses Maya of hiding money in companies

BJP accused the BSP supremo and her kin of "hiding" money amassed through Noida land allotments in more than 100 companies.

New Delhi: Continuing its attack on Uttar
Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati over corruption issue, BJP
today accused the BSP supremo and her kin of "hiding" money
amassed through Noida land allotments in more than 100
companies.

BJP leaders Kalraj Mishra and Kirit Somaiya claimed, in a
press conference, that the party has found over 125 companies
connected with Mayawati`s "friends and family".
These entities have been used to "hide" money amassed
through "scams" and funds collected through land allotments
made in Noida, they alleged.

They also alleged that Congress was protecting Mayawati
despite having evidence against the BSP chief.

"In fact, both the parties are defending each other in
their scams...the government of India has all the documentary
evidences and it should take action," Somaiya said.
He said a letter written by the Enforcement Directorate
to Noida Authority was proof that the Centre was aware of the
goings-on in Uttar Pradesh.

The party also released a list of 26 companies, in which,
it claimed, Mayawati`s brother Anand Kumar and his wife
Vichitralata have stakes. Earlier, it had released a list of
25 such entities.

"We will give details of the entities to the ten main
investigative agencies like ED and CBI seeking action, besides
handing over a memorandum to the UP Governor. If no action is
taken, we will be forced to move court," Somaiya said.

The BJP leaders claimed that they have personally checked
two addresses in which as many companies are registered and
found them to be fake.
