Darjeeling: Around four years after services of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) toy train were suspended because of massive landslides in Paglajora, about 50 km from Siliguri, fresh hopes have emerged that the train journey between New Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling will resume soon.

During an inspection with railway officers, he said, "We are trying our best to start the direct toy train service in this route, the tourist season in coming, many domestic and international tourist will come to this place for the toy train ride. The team also looking to set up more infrastructure to ensure quality service at various places throughout the train route."

North East Frontier Railway authorities had earlier started the train service on June 12 of this year, but had to suspend it a day later due to the landslides at Paglajora.
