Event attended by President started with Vande Mataram instead of National Anthem

Kolkata: In a mix up, a function attended by President Pranab Mukherjee to celebrate 125th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on Sunday started with Vande Mataram instead of the National Anthem.

The organisers-- Bidhan Memorial Trust and Jawaharlal Nehru 125th Birth Anniversary Committee later apologised for not following the convention of playing the National Anthem at the beginning of the function. It was played at the conclusion.
