Purulia: Suspected Maoists have killed an expelled member of a Maoist-backed tribal
organisation at Balarampur in Puulia district, police said Wednesday.
Tapan Das (29), an expelled leader of Adivasi Moolbasi
Janaganer Committee, was shot dead last night at Ghatbera
village.
The attackers left posters at the site, saying Das was
executed for being a police informer.
Das was a government employee in a local panchayat,
officials said.
Meanwhile, three persons were arrested from CPI-M
Bandwan zonal committee office on the charge of killing JMM
(Soren) leader Debasish Besra two days ago, police said.
The arrested persons hailing from Belpahari in nearby
West Midnapore district allegedly took shelter in the party
office, sources said.
