Majid Master`s bail application rejected

The bail petition of CPI(M) strongman Majid Ali alias Majid Master, arrested on the charge murdering a Trinamool Congress supporter, was on Tuesday rejected by the North 24-Parganas district court.

by the North 24-Parganas district court.

Judge Asim Mondal rejecting the bail application said
the accused could not produce maintainable grounds for his
freedom.

Majid Master, absconding after allegedly killing
Trinamool Congress supporter Noor Ali Mollah at village Madri
on October 27, 2009, was arrested on March 15 from Sashan
under Barasat police station area.

Police was in search of him with a non-bailable arrest
warrant since the killing of Mollah.

A few days before his arrest, his sudden appearance
along with former party MP Amitava Nandi in the CPI(M)
headquarter in Kolkata in the presence of Chief Minister,
Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee created sensation in the state.

After Majid Master`s arrest, Housing Minister Goutam
Deb had said in several public rallies that CPI(M) would see
to it that Majid gets bail and campaigns for party candidates
in the Assembly Election.

Presently Majid Master is in jail custody.
