Kolkata: Trinamool Congress chief Mamata
Banerjee was dismissive about West Bengal Chief Minister
Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee meeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh
and Union Home Minister P Chidamabaram in Delhi on Wednesday.

"The chief minister has nothing to show to the Centre.

His brain is a desert. Before every election, he and his
party, the CPI(M), create issues," Banerjee said about the
chief minister`s charge that the Trinamool Congress was
`openly and dirrectly` associating with Maoists.

Asked from where the Maoists had arrived in the state,
Banerjee said, "It is they (CPI-M) who imported them to this
state and helped in setting up training camps.

"It is the CPI(M) which brought in Maoists and
captured Keshpur and Garbeta," Banerjee said referring to the
Marxists recapturing the two areas in West Midnapore district
from the Trinamool Congress in 2000-2001.

Banerjee said, "My challenge is that the Maoist help
in capturing Garbeta and Keshpur by the CPI(M) be probed by
CBI. It should be investigated who opened fire and who were
killed."

To a question that the chief minister had admitted the
existence of armed camps, the Trinamool chief said, "Only
admission will not absolve the CPI(M). They will have to pay
for the crime they committed by setting up camps of harmads
(armed cadre)."

She also accused the Left Front government of being
bereft of ideas to develop the state.
"Their job is character assassination. They criticised
Tagore, branded Netaji Subhas Bose as a dog of Tojo and Indira
Gandhi as witch. What else you expect from the CPI(M)," she
asked.

"The Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee government is a
government of terror, a government of harmads which ruled the
state with guns and bullets for last 35 years. Even after
last Lok Sabha polls, harmads killed thousands of people and
suppressed democratic voices with guns," she alleged.
