Jhargram: Suspected Maoists have
killed a primary school teacher who was also a CPI(M) leader
at Chhotakhakri village in West Midnapore district, police
said Monday.
Kalicharan Mahato (40), teacher of Kadamdiha primary
school, was pulled out of his residence in the village and
shot dead by about ten armed men yesterday, they said.
The body of Mahato, who was a member of the
CPI(M)-controlled All Bengal Primary School Teachers
Association, was spotted a few km away from his house, police
said, adding a poster found near his body stated that Mahato
was killed for being a police informer.
