Jhargram: The mass movement that was started after the killing of villagers at Netai put the last nail in the coffin of the Left Front rule in West Bengal, Trinamool Congress general secretary Mukul Roy said here on Wednesday.
"The killing of the innocent villagers in Netai put the last coffin in the misrule of Left Front," he said at a gathering of villagers on the anniversary of the massacre.
Nine persons were killed in indiscriminate firing allegedly from a CPI-M leader's house at Netai village in West Midnapore district on January 7 in 2011.
Roy and other Trinamool Congress leaders attending the meeting demanded exemplary punishment for the accused who are in jail custody.
