MP gives money to school vandalised by angry guardians

Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha member Mukul Roy sanctioned Rs 10 lakh from MPLAD fund for renovation of Christ Church School, Dum Dum which was vandalised by some guardians following death of student.

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha member Mukul Roy on Saturday sanctioned Rs 10 lakh from MPLAD fund for the renovation of Christ Church School at Dum Dum which was vandalised recently allegedly by some guardians and `outsiders` following the death of a student.
"I have sanctioned the money which would be given to nodal agency Kolkata Municipal Corporation for the renovation of the school," Roy told.

The money was given as per the instruction of Trinamool Congress chairperson and Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee, he said.

A five-member delegation from West Bengal Association of Christian School submitted a memorandum at the Chief Minister`s office on Thursday thanking her for "taking personal interest in the past week, in speaking to our leadership and addressing our concern".
