Kolkata: West Bengal Governor M K Narayanan
on Monday said the Maoists had not responded to Chief Minister
Mamata Banerjee`s offer for talks.
"The Chief Minister has given them an offer for talks
but they have not responded," the Governor told reporters on
the sidelines of a function in the city.
"Let’s wait and see what happens," he added.
The Governor`s comment came shortly after the Chief
Minister, at a rally in Singur, gave an ultimatum to the
Maoists asking them to choose between talks and killings.
"If you will kill and then want negotiation, the two
cannot go together and you have to decide your way," she said
in a stern message to the Maoists.
