Kolkata: Troops of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) on Sunday recovered synthetic drugs worth Rs six crore in the international market on the Indo-Nepal border in West Bengal. 

In a press release, an official from the Home Ministry department said that the troops of SSB deployed at Ranidanga in West Bengal seized two boxes of Methamphetamine synthetic drug yesterday, weighing 1.1 kilogram and apprehended one person coming from Nepal, carrying the drugs. 

Based on a credible tip-off, the SSB team under the command of Mr D K Singh, 2nd-in-Command chased the culprit very meticulously and finally apprehended him with durg at 0300 hrs.

The smuggler, Shankar Ghosh, is a resident of Satyajit Roy Sarani, Haider Para here, said SSB Assistant Publicity Officer Arvind Kumar Wickson.

It is said that the seized drug is the purest form of Methamphetamine, a strong stimulant and more potent than cocaine. 

The seized contraband and the accused were handed over to the local police and investigation is underway.
