Trinamool drawing up plans to win panchayat polls

Veteran CPI(M) leader Abdur Rezzak Mollah alleged that the ruling Trinamool Congress was planning to win the coming panchayat polls with the help of goons.

Bhangar (WB): Veteran CPI(M) leader Abdur Rezzak Mollah today alleged that the ruling Trinamool Congress was planning to win the coming panchayat polls with the help of goons, musclemen and the police.
"The party under Mamata Banerjee`s leadership is drawing up a blueprint for winning the panchayat elections by appeasing goons, musclemen and the police," Mollah told a rally here in South 24-Parganas district.
"Trinamool Congress is a party of anti-social elements, goons and musclemen," Mollah said in a scathing attack on Trinamool Congress, whose local leader Arabul Islam was accused of attacking him and CPI(M) cadre in the area on January six.

"Extortionists are having a field day under the Trinamool Congress regime and they are doing it with impunity," Mollah who returned to the area a month after he was attacked and hospitalised, said.

The CPI(M) leader exhorted his party to foil the Trinamool Congress designs to rig the elections.

Ridiculing the chief minister`s assurance to develop the state, Mollah said "All she has been promising to the people are false and her tall talk to help the minority community is bogus."

The CPI(M) leader said that the chief minister should furnish a list of people who were given jobs by the Trinamool Congress government.
