The incident took place at Dulukti village when a group of Maoist ultras abducted the duo - Baleswar Singh Sardar and Karali Mahato - from their homes and shot them dead in a nearby forest area.

"While taking the two, the Maoists reportedly said they would take them to a forest area for some dialogue. Later, both Sardar and Mahato were found dead this (Monday) morning," a police officer said.

Some Maoist posters, which said that Sardar and Mahato used to act as police informers, were also recovered from the spot.
