Kolkata: The police has detained four Bangladeshi nationals for their alleged involvement in the brutal gang-rape of a 71-year-old nun in West Bengal's Nadia district.

The four suspects were reportedly detained in Ludhiana by Punjab police from Motinagar locality.

The CID had earlier arrested two people in connection with the case.

While Mohammed Salim Sheikh alias Salim was picked up from Mumbai, Gopal Sarkar was taken into custody from Habra in North 24 Parganas district in West Bengal.

The elderly nun was allegedly gang-raped by dacoits when they broke into the school and tried to stop them from committing the crime.

They later decamped with around Rs 12 lakh cash kept in the school.
