Johannesburg: Former African President Nelson Mandela who is fighting a life-threatening lung infection is surrounded by his family during his last days.

Mandela`s family, including six children and 17 grandchildren, which is no stranger to family feuds, has come together to be with him, reports News 24.

According to the report, Mandela`s daughters Makaziwe and Zindzi have been spending several hours at the hospital where he is getting the treatment.

Mandela`s former wife, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, whom he divorced in 1996 also visited him while his current wife Graca Machel, had to cancel her appearance at an international conference in London to be with Mandela.
His grandchildren too have been seen visiting him at the Pretoria hospital.

The report said that Mandela`s children who have been largely absent from the public life have garnered the limelight for wrong reasons.

Two of Mandela`s daughters want removal of Mandela`s long time friend and lawyer George Bizos from the Board of Trustees of the two companies that are managing Mandela`s wealth.

Political Analyst Muhamed-Nur Nordien said that there are many people with vested interests in the Mandela name and Mandela brand and like any other family his family too faces certain issues.
South African authorities maintain that Mandela`s health is not improving but none of the family members is showing hint of sadness after they emerge from the hospital, the report added.
