Hillary Clinton raring to go: Victoria Nuland

US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, who was discharged after being diagnosed with a blood clot in her head, is eager to come back to work.

Washington: US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, who was discharged early this week after being diagnosed with a blood clot in her head, is raring to go and eager to come back to work, her spokesperson said on Friday.

"She is raring to go and eager to come back to work," State Department spokesperson, Victoria Nuland, told reporters at her daily news conference.

Clinton would resume her work at the State Department next week.

Yesterday, she had talked to her foreign policy advisory board, regretting her inability to attend a meeting.

"She has not had any other foreign leader calls yesterday, but she is continuing to receive memos from staff and to work through her papers," Nuland said.

"We have had a veritable tsunami of goodwill wishes, both, you know, folks expressing their views on the phone when they`re talking to other American officials or in writing, et cetera. But she hasn`t been taking any phone calls other than the ones we`ve talked to you about," she said.

Clinton also spoke with Senator John Kerry, who has been nominated by US President, Barack Obama, to replace her.

"I think they spoke sometime earlier in the week or over the weekend. She took that opportunity to reiterate that she wants to help him be as successful as possible and to have as smooth a transition as possible," the spokesperson said.
