Iranian FM finds Americans `nice, peace-loving, and generous`

Zarif`s remarks come two days after the historic phone call by US President Barack Obama to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani , ending the 34 years of estrangement between the bitter rival nations.

Washington: Iranian Foreign Minister Javed Zarif expressing his opinion about the US citizens said that they are nice, peace-loving and generous people who come to the aid of people in need all over the world.

Zarif`s remarks come two days after the historic phone call by US President Barack Obama to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani , ending the 34 years of estrangement between the bitter rival nations.

The foreign minister further welcoming the ongoing thaw in the diplomatic relations between Iran and the US said that Iran has no quarrel with the American people even while Iran is known to see protests with chants like `Death to America`, New York Daily News reports.

He said that the chants are against the US policies and not the people of America in particular.
As Rouhani returned to Iran from the UN General Assembly meet, he was greeted with disgust and angst by a group of nearly 75 Iranian hardline demonstrators furious at the new regime`s amicable approach to the US, the report added.
