Baghdad: The Islamic State group carried out an attack on a Shiite shrine north of Baghdad that killed 30 people, the jihadist-linked Amaq agency said on Friday.

Amaq said that IS suicide bombers attacked the Sayyid Mohammed shrine in Balad, where worshippers were gathered, clashing with Iraqi forces for hours and then detonating explosives they were carrying.
