King Abdullah II has sworn in a new Cabinet in the wake of
Egypt-inspired protests in his desert monarchy.
Prime Minister Marouf al-Bakhit heads the 27-member
Cabinet, comprised of a rainbow coalition of leftist
unionists, one former Muslim Brotherhood member and a renowned
woman activist.

woman activist.
Abdullah asked al-Bakhit, an ex-army general and
ambassador to Israel, to quickly widen political participation
and tackle soaring inflation and unemployment.
