London: A naked man chopped off his own penis with a kitchen knife in front of horrified onlookers in Penryn, Cornwall.
The 43-year-old male was seen running down the road before he cut himself and then went back into a house, the Mirror reported.
The cops said that they were forced to restrain him to carry out the life-saving first aid treatment.
The distressed man was taken to the Royal Cornwall hospital in Truro, on Friday evening, with serious injuries, which were not life threatening.
It is believed that the reason behind this horrific act could have something to do with his mental health issues.
