Obama outraised by Romney for the 3rd consecutive month

The Romney campaign raised USD 101.3 million in the month of July as against USD 75 million by the Obama campaign.

Washington: For the third successive month, the Obama campaign has been outraised by the rival Romney campaign, the latest fund raising figures released on Monday showed.

The Romney campaign raised USD 101.3 million in the month of July as against USD 75 million by the Obama campaign, according to the figures released by both the camps today.

"Once again we see that for many people, this is more than a campaign, it is a cause," said the Romney Victory National Finance Chairman Spencer Zwick and RNC Chairman Reince Priebus in a joint statement.

"Americans are clearly looking for a change in the White House," said Republican National Committee Chairman Priebus.

"While President Obama claims that his economic plan `worked`, the American people know that his policies haven`t worked and he has failed to fix our economy," he said.

According to the Romney Campaign 94.13 per cent of all donations received in July were USD 250 or less; USD 25.7 million were raised by donations under USD 250 In July.

Meanwhile the Obama Campaign said it raised USD 75 million in July.

The Obama campaign says 98 percent of the USD 75 million it raised came from people who donated in amounts of USD 250 or less. The campaign says the average donation was about USD53.

There was no word from the campaign on how much money it is left with.
