Passenger lands plane at North Lincolnshire Airport after pilot falls ill

A passenger has successfully landed an aeroplane at Humberside Airport of North Lincolnshire after its pilot had fallen ill.

London: A passenger has successfully landed an aeroplane at Humberside Airport of North Lincolnshire after its pilot had fallen ill.

A full emergency plan was put in place after the pilot on the aircraft collapsed and a distress call was made by the passenger.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the airport and roads surrounding the airport were closed as a precaution.

Two flying instructors advised the passenger on board to bring the plane down safely, the BBC reports.

One of the instructors, Roy Murray, said the passenger had no prior flying experience and he didn`t even had lights on the controls, but he did a remarkable job by making a good landing.

According to the report, the pilot and passenger were the only people on board the aircraft, which took off from Sandtoft Airfield.
