Eleven people were killed and 28 injured in a bus accident on Wednesday near the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk, police said.

Details of the accident, which occurred (44 miles) west of the city, were sketchy.

The regional governor has ordered a day of mourning, his office said.

Russia has a dismal road safety record, due mainly to poor roads and bad driving. In 2014, nearly 27,000 people died in traffic accidents.
