Moscow: Russia accused Ukraine`s acting Foreign Minister Andriy Deshchytsya of hurling insults at Russian President Vladimir Putin during a protest outside its embassy in Kiev, media reported Monday.
A footage filmed by local media showed that Deshchytsya made insulting remarks on Putin when talking to protestors who attacked the Russian embassy in Kiev Saturday, Xinhua reported.
Angry demonstrators overturned cars of the Russian embassy, smashed the building`s windows and ripped up the Russian flag on Saturday evening, in revenge for the loss of 49 lives as a Ukrainian military transport plane was shot down by militias.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov protested against the violence taking place outside the embassy in Kiev.
Meanwhile, head of the International Committee of Russian Parliament`s lower house, or State Duma, Alexei Pushkov tweeted Sunday that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko should replace the foreign minister, who lacks control of himself.
Deshchytsya explained Sunday that his remarks were made just as efforts to ease the tensions since the protestors were planning to set fire to the Russian embassy building.
