Moscow: Three people have died and five are feared missing after an Indonesia-flagged ship sank off Russia`s east coast.
The Russian Emergencies Ministry said in a statement today that it has recovered three bodies from the icy waters of the La Perouse Strait, which lies between the Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Japan.
Officials said five of the crew were Russian, and the others Indonesian.
Two of the dead have been identified as Russian nationals, and one remains unidentified.
The cause of the shipwreck has not been reported but there is a strong storm in the area.
