London: Many precious old item fetch a lot of money in auctions worldwide, and so did a slice of 33-year-old cake from Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s 1981 wedding.
Sold online last week by Nate D Sanders Auctions in Los Angeles auction, the slice still in its original white and silver presentation box, fetched $1,375.
Auction house spokesman Sam Heller didn't reveal the identity of the highest bidder and said the buyer is a private collector.
Heller after the auction joked that though the cake is still wrapped in its original wax paper, but it wouldn’t be a good idea to try to eat it.
