London: British police say they have made changes in their royal protection procedures after student protesters attacked the car of Prince Charles and his wife.
Police say the changes were immediately put into place following a security review and are proving effective. The force declined to specify what the changes were for security reasons.
On Thursday, Charles travelled to an official engagement in an armour-plated Bentley limousine, and there appeared to be more security officers with him.
The future king and his wife Camilla were travelling on December 09 in a Rolls-Royce limo during a violent student protest in London when a mob hit the car with sticks and bottles. Critics called the attack one of the worst royal security breaches in recent years.
Police agreed the attack was a "serious incident”.
