Washington: US Vice President Joe Biden added yet another queer act to his list of gaffes when he was seen cosying up to none other than Stephanie Carter, the wife of US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter (the man who will now take care of the world's largest military), and that too at his swearing-in ceremony.

The awkward moment quickly became the fodder for gossip on social media which was abuzz with comments and wisecracks on Biden's peculiar act.

The incident occurred during Ashton's swearing-in ceremony in the Roosevelt Room, when Biden gestured Stephanie Carter from across the room, and then placed both his hands on the shoulders of Carter's wife who could just flash a faint smile in response. Biden's hands lingered over Stephanie's shoulders for almost 20 seconds after which he leaned over her and whispered something into her ears, his face apparently fondling her hair.

Newly sworn-in Defense Secretary, Carter, sought to tackle the situation quickly as he placed his own hands on his wife's shoulder, thanking her for the support.

The scene created a stir on the social media with Twitteratis posting pictures and videos, and cracking jokes over the same with some calling Biden as "Veep the Creep". As Tweeples pointed out, it is not the first time Biden has pulled off such an act.

However, Biden's supporters have brushed it aside calling it as just another example of "Biden being Biden".
