Hyderabad: The ruling Congress leaders from Telangana would hold a meeting on September 15 to decide their future course of action over the separate statehood issue.
Some of the Telangana Congress MLAs and Andhra Pradesh ministers from the region held a meeting here on Tuesday and discussed the present political situation.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, Congress Chief Whip in the Legislative Assembly, G Venkata Ramana Reddy said they would organise a gathering of party leaders from Telangana on September 15.
A proposal to organise a public rally here is under consideration to thank the party leadership for giving nod to the separate statehood demand.
Congress Working Committee on July 30 decided to grant statehood to Telangana, fulfilling the long-pending demand of the people from the region, which is spread over 10 districts.
The decision triggered a widespread agitation in non- Telangana regions of the state.
