Debt ridden farmer, weaver commit suicide in AP

In two separate incidents a farmer and a weaver committed suicide in the district today to tide over their financial woes, police said.

Karimnagar: In two separate incidents a
farmer and a weaver committed suicide in the district today to
tide over their financial woes, police said.

Neelam Yadagiri (28), a resident of Advai Padira Village,
80 km from here, committed suicide by hanging self at his
house after he incurred losses in paddy crop due to water
scarcity and untimely rain which left him unable to repay the
loans he had taken during the sowing season, they said.

Meanwhile, a handloom weaver Lonka Balaiah (55) of
Siddipet in Medak district, committed suicide by hanging self
to a tree at Tangallapalli village nearly 50 km from here,
they said.

Balaiah was debt ridden and was unable to repay the loans
which led him to end his life, they said.

A case has been registered in this connection and further
investigations are on, they said.
