Karimnagar: In two separate incidents a farmer and a weaver committed suicide in the district today to tide over their financial woes, police said.

Neelam Yadagiri (28), a resident of Advai Padira Village, 80 km from here, committed suicide by hanging self at his house after he incurred losses in paddy crop due to water scarcity and untimely rain which left him unable to repay the loans he had taken during the sowing season, they said.

Meanwhile, a handloom weaver Lonka Balaiah (55) of Siddipet in Medak district, committed suicide by hanging self to a tree at Tangallapalli village nearly 50 km from here, they said.

Balaiah was debt ridden and was unable to repay the loans which led him to end his life, they said.

A case has been registered in this connection and further investigations are on, they said.
