Sonia `positive` over Telangana formation: AP Congress

Hyderabad: UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi is
"positive" over the formation of Telangana, which will be a
reality once Srikrishna Committee submits its report, Andhra
Pradesh Congress president D Srinivas claimed Wednesday.

"Telangana is not going to take long. Sonia Gandhi is
positive about Telangana. Separate statehood will definitely
come after the Srikrishna Committee submits its report,"
Srinivas said.

He said the Congress is in power both at the Centre and
the state. "It is this government which has to give Telangana.
So, please vote for Congress".

Srinivas said he would contest the July 27 by-polls from
the Nizamabad Assembly seat, which he lost to a BJP candidate
in the 2009 polls. "If I win this time, I am going to get a
big post and it will benefit all of us," he said.

The by-poll to Nizamabad and nine other Assembly
constituencies was necessitated as the sitting MLAs quit their
seats in support of separate Telangana demand.

The Congress has not so far declared the names of the
candidates for the by-polls.
