TDP wants white paper on budgetary allocations to diff regions

TDP today demanded that the state government release a white paper listing the budgetary allocations to the three different regions of the state to provide a clear understanding about the state of affairs.

Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party today
demanded that the state government release a white paper
listing the budgetary allocations to the three different
regions of the state, demographic and economic trends between
1957 and 2008 to provide a clear understanding about the state
of affairs relating to development in various sectors.

"In the context of the ongoing agitations,
developments in different regions are being interpreted
differently by various interested groups. This has caused a
lot of confusion in people`s minds about the development in
the state.

As such, the government version is vital at this
juncture to clarify the actual situation, vis-a-vis
development," TDP senior leaders Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, M V
Mysura Reddy, Ummareddy Venkateswarlu and others said in a
letter to Chief Minister K Rosaiah here.

The chief minister`s statement on investment plans
being either put on hold or withdrawn from the state not only
reflected on the future development but also put the future of
the state at stake, they feared.

"If the Chief Minister`s claim is true, it will be a
great loss to the younger generation by way of employment
opportunities in the state," they noted.
