Hyderabad: As many as 51 pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh stranded in Badrinath and other places in Uttarakhand were air-lifted to Dehradun on Sunday.
A release from the Chief Minister`s Office said all 51 stranded pilgrims in Badrinath and other places have been brought to Dehradun.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy inquired in the evening about the rescue and relief efforts for Telugu pilgrims stranded in Uttarakhand, it said.
As many as 70 people will be brought from Dehradun to Delhi and from there to Hyderabad by air tomorrow and arrangements will also be made for their onward journey to their native places, according to the release.
The government has so far airlifted 351 pilgrims from Badrinath to their places, it said.
According to officials, 2,747 pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh were on `Chardham Yatra` to the hill state when the calamity struck.
A majority of them have been rescued and sent back to Andhra Pradesh.
A team of IAS and IPS officers from the state is supervising the operations, the release added.
Earlier in the day, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna thanked Reddy over phone for AP government`s contribution of Rs 10 crore towards flood relief in the hill, the release said.
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will spend another Rs 40 crore on construction of amenities for pilgrims at Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri and Gangotri.
