North Lakhimpur (Assam): Two cadres of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), including a female, were nabbed from Lakhimpur district of upper Assam, police said on Friday.
Police last night arrested a lady Maoist Gitanjali Dihingia from Dolhat outpost.
Based on information provided by her during interrogation, another cadre Abdul Hameed was arrested from Gorchola this morning, police said.
Dihingia, who hails from Dhemaji district, told police that she joined the outfit in early May and has been working under orders from the state chief of the Maoist Naba Gohain.
According to police, the CPI (Maoist) is currently undertaking a recruitment drive in Assam.
