Guwahati: A hardcore ULFA militant was killed in an encounter with security forces in Assam's Sibsagar district on Wednesday, police said.
Acting on specific information, a joint team of police and CRPF's Black Cobra forces launched an operation at Namsai area last night and an encounter took place early this morning.
A militant was killed on the spot and combing operations were on the area in search of other militants in the area.
The slain militant has been identified as Rabin Moran alias Habindra Moran.
