BJP MP Kirti Azad arrested

Darbhanga, Bihar: BJP MP Kirti Jha Azad
was Wednesday arrested while he was on his way to a court here to
surrender following a non-bailable warrant of arrest against
him, police said.

A local court had on June 24 last issued the warrant
against the BJP leader in a case of ransacking and torching
the office of the general manager of the Bihar State
Electricity Board by a mob in 2001.

Azad was allegedly involved in the violence.
