BSF personnel escape landmine blast in Gaya

Border Security Force(BSF) personnel had a providential escape thanks to an alert driver at Saliya village in Bihar`s Maoist-affected Gaya district.

had a providential escape thanks to an alert driver at Saliya village in Bihar`s Maoist-affected Gaya district.

A landmine planted by Maoists on the road at Saliya
village exploded barely a couple of minutes before the BSF
personnel passed over it, police said.

The driver of the BSF vehicle sensing the presence of
the landmine had stopped the vehicle before the blast, the police said.
Saliya village is in Imamganj assembly constituency,
which goes to the polls in the sixth and final phase in Bihar
on November 20. The BSF personnel had been deployed in the
area in view of the polls.
A combing operation has been launched against the
Maoists in the area, the police added.
