Cong meet analyses cause for poor showing in Bihar

NDA-led by Nitish Kumar taking credit for central schemes coupled with people deciding to reject the RJD-LJP alliance benefitted the NDA enabling it to reap historic electoral success, Congress leaders today felt.

Patna: The NDA-led by Nitish Kumar taking
credit for even central schemes coupled with people deciding
to reject the Lalu Prasad-led RJD-LJP alliance benefitted
the NDA enabling it to reap historic electoral success in
Bihar, Congress leaders today felt.

The state Congress led by its president Choudhary Mehboob
Ali Kaiser met here to review the reasons behind party faring
badly in the October-November 2010 assembly elections.

According to a press release issued by the party, several
leaders during their speech traced Kumar`s relentless efforts
during the campaign to take credit for implementation of even
central schemes for development which succeeded in the NDA
pulling off a historic electoral success in Bihar.
The leaders also claimed that people made up their
minds well in advance and rejected the Lalu Prasad led
alliance which also heavily benfitted the NDA during the
elections, the release said.

The leaders, however, reposed their faith in the
leadership of Kaiser and felt that the party-supported
candidates would have better showing in the upcoming panchayat
elections in Bihar.
The speakers castigated the BJP and JD(U) for their
continuing attack on the UPA government led by Manmohan Singh
on the issue of corruption.

Speaking on the occasion, Kaiser said the Congress was
firm in its resolve to continue a decisive battle against
corruption and the party would create awareness among the
masses about the 10-point programmes on weeding out corruption
and bringing back the black money stashed away in banks
abroad.

Senior party leaders, Mahachandra Prasad Singh, Ajay
Kumar Singh, Jamal Ahmed Bhall, Motilal Sharma, Prabhat Kumar
Singh, also spoke.
