JD(U) MLA gets bail in Bihar

A local court Thursday granted bail to ruling JD(U) MLA Ramsevak Singh who was charged with beating up two youths and pouring petrol on their private parts in Gopalganj district on May 23, 2011.

District Judge B N Singh allowed Singh`s application for bail on the basis of a medical report which did not confirm the allegation of petrol pouring.
Rajesh Dubey and Vishal Kumar Singh in an FIR lodged with the Uchkagaon police station had alleged that the MLA and five others had badly beat them up and even poured petrol on their private parts.
Police said the medical report did not (not) confirm the allegation of petrol pouring. Other injuries of the victims were also minor in nature, the report said.

Police had on May 24 arrested the MLA, his three bodyguards and driver. PTI
