New Delhi: LJP and RJD Monday staged a walkout from Rajya Sabha for not being allowed to raise an issue related to CAG report that pointed out financial irregularities in Bihar government`s accounts.

When LJP Chief Ram Vilas Paswan sought to raise the issue during Zero Hour, Deputy Chairman K Rahman Khan disallowed it following objections from Leader of the Opposition Arun Jaitley.

Jaitley said the CAG report cannot be discussed in any House till the Public Accounts Committee examines it.

Paswan, his party colleague Sabir Ali, and RJD members Prem Chand Gupta, Jabir Hussain and Rajniti Prasad were on their feet. They insisted on raising the issue without
mentioning CAG report.

As the din continued, the Chair adjourned the House for 10 minutes.

When the House reassembled, Paswan persisted with his demand.
BJP members, however, objected to the demand wondering how a report placed before a state Assembly can be discussed in the Rajya Sabha. JD(U) heads the coalition in Bihar with BJP.
At this point of time, the Chair asked the LJP leader to give a separate notice if he wanted to discuss the issue without referring to the CAG report.

In protest, RJD and LJP members staged a walk out.
