Patna: The two houses of Bihar legislature
today got off to a noisy start with opposition parties,
including RJD-LJP combine, Congress and Left parties,
demanding immediate resignation of Nitish Kumar government in
the light of Patna High Court`s order of a CBI probe.

The Patna High Court had last week ordered a CBI inquiry
into alleged irregularities of Rs 11,412 crore in execution of
development and welfare schemes between April 1, 2002 and
March 31, 2008.

Soon before the brief five-day session of the state
legislature started this morning, the opposition members
waving placards demanded immediate resignation of Nitish Kumar
government were seen demonstrating in the main portico of the
state assembly.

"Nitish Kumar should immediate resign as CM. His
government be sacked if he fails to quit on moral grounds,"
RJD Deputy Leader in the state assembly Shakeel Ahmed Khan
said.

The opposition members created noisy scenes and trooped
into the well in the state legislative council to press for
the demand.

As the house sat for the day, opposition MLCs,
including Gulam Gaus entered the well of the house waving
placards and newspaper clippings on the CBI probe ordered by
the High Court.
