Panchayat secretary Awadhesh Kumar was arrested on Friday by the state Vigilance Bureau while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 in Bihar.

Mahipura in Bihar`s Vaishali district, ADG (Vigilance) P K
Thakur said.

Acting on a complaint from the teacher Jaswant Kumar
that the secretary had sought bribe to clear his arrears, a
vigilance team caught Awadhesh Kumar red-handed.

Awadhesh Kumar was being brought here for
interrogation.
