RJD MP Pappu Yadav shows support for Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi

Deviating from party line, RJD MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav on Saturday appealed to party President Lalu Prasad not to support Nitish Kumar on the issue of removal of Jitan Ram Manjhi.

Kisanganj/Katihar: Deviating from party line, RJD MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav on Saturday appealed to party President Lalu Prasad not to support Nitish Kumar on the issue of removal of Jitan Ram Manjhi.

Pledging support to Manjhi, Pappu Yadav appealed to Legislators including those of his own party to vote on the basis of "voice of their conscience".

Addressing a "Jan Samvad rally" in Kisanganj, Pappu Yadav described Lalu Prasad as his "elder brother" but urged him not to impart "moral teaching" to him through somebody else.

He said that he had told Lalu Prasad in the past also not to encourage the oust Manjhi campaign by Nitish Kumar as he (Manjhi) was championing the social justice slogan espoused by RJD chief himself.

Pappu Yadav, who is the RJD MP from Madhepura, said the "conspiracy" to remove Manjhi was not justified.

"He appealed to JD(U) MLAs that February 20 will provide them to live with dignity and get rid of humiliation meted out to them by Nitish Kumar," Pappu Yadav said.

"The way Legislators were living under Nitish Kumar rule in the state in past eight years when they were not heard and officials dictated them, the time has come to get rid of all such humiliation," Yadav said.
