Patna: British Equalities Minister Lynne Featherstone on Thursday praised Bihar government for its measures to better the condition of women and children in the state.
On a day-long visit here to inspect a hostel being run by Padmashri Sudha Verghese for the girls from Mahadalit community, she praised the state government for empowering women and girls during an interaction with the inmates.
Featherstone visited Alipur village in Phurwari block to take a first-hand view of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar`s women empowerment project and discuss with the women about their socio-economic condition.
