New Delhi: Ahead of the Bihar Assembly
elections, Congress today appointed Vinita Vijay as the
president of the state women`s wing of the party.
Vijay, the daughter of former Bihar minister Raghunath
Pandey, hails from an upper caste and had unsuccessfully
contested the last Lok Sabha elections from Muzaffarpur.
The party had changed both the PCC President and the AICC
in-charge of the state last month.
While Mehboob Ali Kaisar replaced Anil Sharma as the PCC
chief, Mukul Wasnik replaced Jagdish Tytler as the AICC
in-charge of the poll-bound state.
