BSP MLA`s son accused of assaulting Russian woman

The son of BSP MLA from UP allegedly barged into the house of a young Russian woman in south Delhi Wednesday and assaulted her before decamping with her passport, mobile phone and debit card.

Pradesh allegedly barged into the house of a young Russian
woman in south Delhi today and assaulted her before decamping
with her passport, mobile phone and debit card.

The incident was reported from the 24-year-old Russian
woman`s house in Mehrauli this morning.

The complainant alleged that a drunk Vivek Singh, son of
BSP MLA Chandraveer Singh, barged into her house and decamped
with documents and valuables. The MLA or his son could not
be contacted for comment.

The victim, who hails from Moscow, is working an an intern
with an architect in Gurgaon.

She had met Vivek in a function around an year ago and
became friends. However, they fell out over some issue, the
victim told police.

A hunt is on to nab Vivek, who was earlier arrested in 2009 for allegedly opening fire in a pub in Kalkaji. His revolver was then seized and license cancelled.
The victim had returned to Delhi in the wee hours from
Moscow.

"Vivek had come to receive her. However, she hired a
separate taxi and left for her house. Vivek followed her up to
her home and forcibly entered her home and abused her. He then
took out a revolver and threatened her. She locked herself in
a bathroom. Vivek took her passport, mobile phone and her
debit card and left her house," police said quoting the
victim.
She was also beaten up and threatened by the accused.
The victim then informed police and a case under section
452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault or
wrongful restraint) of Indian Penal Code and Arms Act has been
registered in this regard.
